Description
A terrace of three cottages located on Mill Pond Avenue in Hayle, dating to approximately the mid-19th century. Constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, the roofs are covered in flipped grouted scantle slate, featuring brick chimneys at the right-hand end and over the cross party wall towards the left. The cottages follow a double-depth plan, with each originally having one room at the front. The right-hand cottages (Nos. 7 and 8) are paired, with their entrance passages grouped centrally. No. 9 has its entrance passage set to the left. Service rooms are situated at the rear. The east front has an overall width of six windows, with each cottage featuring a two-window frontage, the window above the doorway being slightly narrower. The original panelled door remains at No. 7; otherwise, the doors are 20th century replacements. Original hornless sash windows with glazing bars are found at the right-hand cottage and on the first floor of the left-hand cottage; the remaining windows are circa late 19th century, 4-pane sash windows with horns. The interior has not been inspected.
