Description
Rock Close Terrace is a terrace of three cottages, dated 1791. The cottages are constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and feature a steep grouted Delabole slate roof. There are brick chimneys located over the gable ends and the cross party walls, along with cast-iron ogee gutters.
The plan consists of a double-depth layout with heated service wings at right angles to the rear. Each cottage has two equally sized rooms at the front, flanking a central cross passage that presumably leads to a stair between shallow service rooms.
The exterior is two stories high, with a symmetrical three-window front for each cottage, originally identical in design. Each has a central doorway and blind windows above. Cottages 1 and 2 (on the left and in the middle) feature old doors and original 12-pane, 2-light casement windows on the first floor, while the ground floor has later sash windows. Cottage 3 (on the right) has a 20th-century door and windows. The interior has not been inspected.
