Description
This building is a warehouse located at the rear of number 41 on High Street in Falmouth, which has been converted into residential accommodation. It was built in the early 19th century on quay walls that date back to around 1700. The construction features killas and granite rubble, with granite quoins and segmental brick arches. The seaward end of the building has weatherboarding on studwork for the first and second floors, and the roof is made of dry Delabole slate, hipped at the seaward end. The quay walls are made of vertically-set drystone rubble, which is thought to show a Dutch influence. The building has a rectangular plan and stands three storeys high, with irregularly placed openings that contain 20th-century windows. The seaward end features paired sash windows with glazing bars above former loading doorways that have ledged doors. Inside, much of the original carpentry, including the roof structure, has been retained.
