Description

Hawkins House is a late 18th-century town house located on the High Street in Falmouth. It is built of lime-washed brick over a probable rubble base, with an asbestos slate roof hidden behind a parapet. The roof is hipped on the right side, featuring a brick end stack. The house follows a double-depth plan and is three stories high, with a four-window front. Keyed flat arches top modern 12-pane horned sash windows with granite sills. A round-arched doorway with a cobweb fanlight is centrally positioned in the three bays on the right, leading to a six-panel door. A wide, elliptical-arched doorway at the far left provides access to a passage and steps leading down to the quay. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest.
