Description

GWENNAP GREENSPLAT SW 74 SE 1/190 Greensplatt House and Garden Wall - to south II House. Early C19, extended circa mid C19 and including garden wall to south east. Green slatestone, brought to course, with dressed granite quoins, sills, jambstones and lintels. Hipped asbestos slate roof with adjoining hipped roofed wings to rear. Brick chimneys over side walls and over rear wall. Plan originally L-shaped with 2 equal reception rooms flanking passage, stair behind left-hand room within integral service wing. Further similar wing added behind right-hand room circa mid C19. Outbuilding to rear remodelled and joined to house C20. Symmetrical 3-window south front with hornless 16-pane sashes. Central doorway, now with 16-pane sash. Internal window shutters. Continuous granite ashlar course at lintel level. Doorway to side wall of wing, right (east) with porch on iron columns. Interior not inspected. Circa late C19 garden wall with rock-faced granite piers and copings incorporating flattened ogee reused granite archstone over doorway.
