Description

Elmsford is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features a painted stucco front and painted rubble sides and rear. The roof is hipped and covered with asbestos slate, with wide eaves on all sides surrounding a central valley, and brick chimneys positioned over the side walls. The building has a double-depth plan, with the main rooms located on either side of the entrance hall passage. The stairs are to the right, behind the right-hand room, with smaller service rooms at the rear.

The house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front facing southeast, showcasing original 16-pane hornless sash windows. It has a plinth and slate sills, with a central doorway featuring an original six-panel door and four granite steps leading up to it. The entrance is adorned with a Doric porch supported by two unfluted columns and a simple entablature, topped by a leaded wooden roof. There is also an original round-headed stair window located in the middle of the east wall. The interior has not been inspected.
