Description
21 Foundry Square is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features a stuccoed front with a granite ashlar plinth and a grouted scantle slate roof that has projecting eaves at the front, alongside taller party walls on both sides. There is a brick chimney located over the left-hand party wall.
The house has a double depth plan on a slightly tapered site, consisting of two rooms at the front with an entrance passage or hall in between, and presumably a stair hall that connects to the rear service rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front facing the road, with a blind window positioned above the central doorway. The original six-panel door is complemented by a three-panel overlight, and the original openings contain late 19th or 20th-century sash windows, which have stucco aprons beneath the sills. The interior has not been inspected.
