Description

Milestone located 200 meters south-east of Straches, dating from around 1761. It is made of granite and has been whitewashed, featuring a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The milestone is inscribed in upper case serif lettering that reads 'LISK 2 ½ LOSTW 9'. This milestone is associated with the turnpike acts for the roads leading to Liskeard and Lostwithiel, both established in 1761 under the reign of King George III.
