Description
Penlee Cottage is a small house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of painted stone rubble and cob, with a rendered front and an asbestos slate roof featuring brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a two-room central stair plan and an outshut at the rear left. It stands two storeys high and has a front that features three windows, which are almost symmetrical. The central door consists of two tall panels and two square glazed panels. The ground floor windows are six-pane wooden sashes, while the first floor windows are older 16-pane wooden sashes without horns. The window above the door is set at a slightly higher level. The interior has not been inspected, and the cottage is included for its group value.
