Description
Rose Cottage is a house that dates from the early 18th century or possibly earlier. It features painted render over stone rubble, a scantle slate roof, and a brick chimney located at the gable end on the left and a lateral stack at the rear right. The house has a two-room central stair plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window front. There is a wide four-panel door positioned centrally within the window grouping, although it is closer to the right side. The stone doorcase, which has an open pediment, likely dates from the early to mid-18th century. The window above the door, along with other first-floor windows, is widely spaced, while the ground-floor windows are positioned closer to the door. All windows feature marginal glazed six-pane wooden sashes with horns. There is a wing extending to the rear right. The interior has not been inspected.
