Outbuilding Attached To East End Of Penrose Farmhouse

This is an outbuilding, likely used as stables with a loft, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from slate rubble with granite quoins and features a rag slate roof with gable ends, while the rear lean-to has a corrugated iron roof. The building has a rectangular plan with an entrance located on the front left and a loft above, which includes a doorway in the left gable end. At the rear of the left side, there is an outshot. The front of the building has only one opening, a doorway on the left with a granite lintel. In the left (east) gable end, there is a small square loft doorway with a granite lintel and a blocked window below it. The lean-to at the rear has a doorway in the end wall, also with a granite lintel. This outbuilding is part of a group of attractive structures associated with Penrose Farmhouse.
