Description
Marine Villa is a house dating from around the mid 18th century. It is constructed of brick and likely has a softwood timber frame, with rag slates hung on the exterior. The roof is slate, featuring hipped ends, and there are rendered brick axial stacks. The overall plan is 'L' shaped, with each range consisting of a two-room layout heated by back-to-back fireplaces.
The house has two storeys and is built on bedrock on a steeply sloping site. The entrance is located on St Edmund's Lane, featuring a 19th-century door and two 19th-century round-headed sash windows on the first floor. The right-hand side elevation has round-headed sashes, and the elevations facing Avery Row remain unspoilt with sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
