Description
The Joll monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 15 metres south west of the tower of the Church of St Andrew in Calstock. It dates from the 18th century and is made of slate. The monument features a wide segmental head with two inscribed panels, each adorned with a nowy head and a central carved angel. There are cherubs at the head of each panel and an eternal flame on either side. The inscriptions commemorate William Joll, who died in 1796, and his wife Mary, who passed away in 1810.
