Description

FORRABURY AND THE BRIDGE, Boscastle SW 09 SE MINSTER

Riverside Hotel 1/20 II GV Warehouse, converted into a hotel. Circa early C19, converted into hotel in circa mid C19. Slate stone rubble with brick dressings. Slate roof with hipped end on left and canted end on right. Brick stack in left hand hipped end. Probably originally two houses of single depth plan with pair of central entrances leading directly into stair halls and with reception room to left and to right. 3 storeys. Regular 3-window front: ground floor with two early C19 12-pane hornless sashes flanking pair of central entrances; C20 part glazed door on left and C19 4- panel door to right, both with round rubbed brick arches. First floor has 3 early C19 12-pane hornless sashes, two disposed to left, second floor with 3 early C19 hornless sashes. C20 extension to rear, slate hung with C20 fenestration. Interior mid C19 open string stair of fine quality. Unspoilt elevation to road.
