Description
Ivy Cottage is a small house dating from the mid-19th century, situated in St Austell Higher Porthpean. The construction consists of rendered rubble walls with a bitumen-grouted slate roof and brick end stacks. The house follows a single-depth plan, augmented by an integral outshut at the rear towards the right, and a slightly later lean-to in the rear left-hand angle. It presents a symmetrical three-window facade, with a central doorway. The original windows are hornless sashes with margin panes. The front includes an original six-panel door. The outshut has two similar original windows and a four-panel door. The interior has not been inspected. This building possesses group value.
