Description

The Count House is a former count house for the Pedn-an-drea Mine, dating from the 1770s and later altered in the 19th century. It is constructed from killas rubble laid to courses, with granite quoins and dressings, and features a slate roof with brick chimneys. The building has a rectangular plan with an added porch at the front. It is two storeys high and has three bays, arranged symmetrically. The central doorway is now covered by a two-storey porch that is rendered and painted white, featuring a door on the left side and a large altered window on each floor of the front. There are also two large 12-pane sashed windows on each floor. The roof is a two-span hipped design with projecting eaves. At the rear, there is a round-headed stair window with radiating glazing bars. Inside, the layout consists of a four-room plan with a central passage, and there is a hatch window between the front and back rooms on the right-hand side, which is said to have been a pay window.
