Description

Pedn-an-drea Chimney Stack is a Grade II listed structure located in Redruth, believed to have been built around 1824 by Arthur Woolf for the re-working of Pedn-an-drea Mine. The chimney stack is constructed from uncoursed killas rubble with granite dressings and has a circular plan. It consists of four sections that are successively set back, each capped by a dressed granite ring, although the lower half is now covered in ivy. Originally, the stack is said to have had eight sections, but one was removed in 1891 and two others in 1936. This chimney stack serves as a prominent landmark in the town.
