Description

The war memorial, erected in 1920, is located adjoining the churchyard wall to the southeast of the Church of St Piran in Perranzabuloe. It was funded by public subscription and commemorates those who died in the First World War (1914-1918) and the Second World War (1939-1945). The memorial features a Celtic style granite monolithic cross, which has a pierced wheel-head and interlaced carving. The cross is rectangular in shape and stands on a semi-circular cobbled platform. Behind the platform is a stone rubble ledge that is set into the rubble-faced hedge, and there are seven inscribed slate panels located behind the ledge.
