Description

ST BURYAN SW 32 NE 4/30 Piggery and stable at approximately - 15 metres north of Banns Farmhouse GV II Piggeries and adjoining stables. Probably C18 and early Cl9. Granite rubble walls with granite dressings including many large verticaly set roughly-hewn granite monoliths. Scantle slate roofs except for rear slope of stable which is replaced with asbestos slate. Granite coped gable ends to original building with stump of brick chimney over the left-hand end. Plan: 3 adjoining rectangular buildings. Original probably C18 probably stable later converted to swill kitchen and pigsty. Slightly later piggery set back slightly in the middle and later stable built forward on the right. Exterior: Single storey. Original building (left) has doorway on its right (and at left-hand end); piggery has doorway on the left and pair of doorways in the middle, and stable has doorway towards the left and small window at far left. Old ledged doors. Interior has old stone partitions and C19 roof structures.
