Description
This building is a barn, adjoining piggery, and stable, located approximately 35 meters east-south-east of Gwavas Farmhouse. It dates from the mid-19th century and later. The structure is built of granite rubble with granite dressings, featuring grouted scantle slate hipped roofs for the barn and piggery, while the stable has a corrugated asbestos roof.
The barn has a rectangular plan with a shallower rectangular piggery set back at the right angle, far right. There are stone steps leading to a first-floor loading or winnowing doorway at the front of the barn. The exterior showcases a two-storey barn and a single-storey piggery, with original openings. The barn features a central first-floor loading/winnowing doorway, which is blocked at the rear, and is approached by a straight flight of granite steps. To the right of the steps, there is a ground floor doorway, and another first-floor loading doorway is located in the left-hand end wall. The piggery has three doorways at the front, while the stable has a partly rebuilt front with a small central doorway, a window on the left, and a wide doorway on the right.
