Description

ST GORAN SX 04 SW 4/73 Parson Martin's Cross - II

Cross. Dated 1896. Granite. The cross is about 7 metres high, with slightly tapered shaft; a Latin cross. Set on a square base of three steps. On the base there is an inscription tablet: "In the firm hope of the second coming of our lord Jesus Christ and for the encouragement of those who strive to serve him this cross is erected AD 1896". The cross is on Dodman Point and has great landscape value.
