Description

The Watch House is a late 18th- or early 19th-century boatshed, originally used as a watch house, situated in Gorran Haven. The building is constructed of painted stone rubble with a hipped slate roof featuring ridge tiles. It is a two-story structure, built into the bank at the rear. The ground floor functions as a boatshed with access directly to the slipway via plank double doors under a wooden lintel. A single room occupies the first floor. The front elevation features a late 19th-century canted bay window with plate-glass sashes to the sides and a 20th-century window centrally. A 20th-century window is present on the right side at first floor. The left side has a plank door and a 20th-century door, both providing access to other boatsheds. A 2-light 2-pane casement window sits to the left, while a 2-pane single casement and a late 19th-century plate-glass sash are positioned to the right. The rear of the building is plain and without openings. The interior has not been inspected.
