Description
West Park is a house dating to the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed stone ashlar with a rag slate roof and gable ends. There are stone rubble end stacks, one on the right and a brick end stack on the left. The house has a 2-room and cross passage plan, with a small 20th-century 1-room extension on the left side. The exterior presents a nearly symmetrical front with three windows. The ground floor has a 20th-century door in the centre, flanked by two 19th-century 16-pane sashes. The first floor has two 19th-century 16-pane sashes and a likely 20th-century 16-pane sash in the centre, all with dressed stone flat arches above. The interior was not inspected. West Park is one of three similar cottages situated on the west side of a picturesque valley; these include Farmhouse and an adjoining cottage 90 metres to the northwest of West Park, and a cottage 150 metres to the north.
