Description
19 and 20 King Street are two townhouses that have been converted into a shop. They date from the 18th century and feature a painted brick front laid in Flemish bond, with a steep dry Delabole slate roof behind a parapet and three hipped roof dormers. The building's plan was altered during the conversion to a shop; it was likely originally a single-depth front range with two rooms on either side of a central entrance hall, along with a deep service range at right angles behind. The structure has two storeys plus an attic and a five-window front. The windows have tall 15-pane horned sashes (which are copies) set in openings that are spanned by double-ogee heads, and there is a moulded cornice above the plain brick parapet. The shop front was altered in the 20th century. The interior has been modified for the shop, and otherwise, it has not been inspected.
