Description

ST MERRYN SW 87 SE 3/252 Barn directly (40 metres) to south west of Carnevas Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Circa mid C18. Slate stone rubble. Scantle slate and corrugated asbestos roof with hipped and half hipped ends and some probably original crested ridge tiles. Plan: Rectangular plan with small outshot to rear left and external stair to loft on right hand end. Comprises shippon with wide possibly cart opening to right of centre and loft above with numerous pigeon holes. Exterior: 2 storeys. Wide opening with timber lintel to right of centre flanked by plank door and 2 windows to left and window and door to right. Pigeon holes above. External stair to loft on right hand end. Rear elevation with ventilation slit openings splayed on inner side. Interior: Roughly cut fairly massive floor joists and circa C19 timber partitions.
