Description
This small barn, likely built in the early 19th century, is attached to the east of Lower South Carne farmhouse. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends. The barn has an overall rectangular plan, possibly containing shippons on the ground floor and a loft on the first floor. The exterior consists of two storeys, with a gable end facing the front. There are stone rubble steps leading up to a loft opening, which has a 19th-century plank door located to the left of centre. The left side of the barn, which faces South Carne Farmhouse, includes ventilation slit openings on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
