Description
Hodgelands is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from stone rubble and features rag slate hung above ground on the front elevation. The roof is slate with gable ends, and there are stone rubble end stacks. The building has a two-room layout with a cross or through passage plan, and the entrance is slightly to the left of the center. The house is heated by end stacks. An outshut was added across the rear in the early 19th century.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an almost symmetrical three-window front. The entrance, which is slightly to the left of center, has a 20th-century part-glazed porch and is flanked by two windows that are probably from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are three windows that date from the late 19th or 20th centuries. The interior has not been inspected.
