Description

CAMBORNE BASSET ROAD SW 63 NW (west side) 10/14 No.18 GV II House, now offices. Probably mid C19, altered. Stucco, presumably on rubble, slate roof. Long rectangular double-depth plan. Two storeys and 1:3:1 bays defined by pilasters, symmetrical; panelled pilasters; shallow porch with slender Tuscan columns and semi-columns, deep frieze and prominent moulded cornice, protecting a doorway with architrave of fluted pilasters, the frieze lettered "BASSET CHAMBERS"; 4-pane sashed windows with raised sills on both floors, but the 2nd and 4th at 1st floor altered by replacement of the lower leaves. Moulded eaves cornice, hipped roof of shallow pitch, now no chimneys. Interior not inspected.
