Description

This is a house, later used as the Basset Arms Hotel and now offices, likely built in the mid-19th century and subsequently altered. The ground floor is roughcast, while the upper floor is stuccoed over a rubble base, with a slate roof. The building has a rectangular, double-depth plan and is two storeys high, comprising four bays. It features a plinth and raised quoins. The main doorway, located in the second bay, is sheltered by an altered porch with a flat roof, a plain square-headed opening, moulded cornice, and a blocking course. There are 12-pane sash windows on both floors; the ground floor windows have floating cornices supported by consoles, and the upper floor windows have moulded architraves. The roof is hipped with projecting eaves and side wall chimneys. The interior has been altered.
