Description

Bellair House is a pair of attached houses dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco with hipped roofs covered in Spanish slate tiles, featuring stuccoed chimneys above each side wall and over the central cross party wall. The eaves project. The plan is H-shaped, with shallow wings facing the garden front, which become deeper wings at the rear. There are entrances with porches on each side. A later extension exists to the inner side of the rear wing of the left hand house.

The two-storey south garden front has a symmetrical arrangement of four windows, divided into a 1:2:1 bay configuration. The left and right bays project forward and have moulded stucco architraves. A 19th-century fretted wooden verandah spans the front of the central two bays. Original 12-pane hornless sash windows are present throughout, alongside original six-panel doors and porches. The interiors were not inspected.
