Description
The chimney at SW727518 is a detached structure associated with Blue Hills mine, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features a lower stage made of killas rubble and an upper stage constructed from red brick. The chimney is round in plan and consists of two stages that are stepped and tapered. The lower stage is built with three different types of rubble arranged in three bands, while the narrower upper stage is made of red brick, creating a polychrome banded effect with considerable color variation within the bands. This chimney is an integral part of the Blue Hills Mine.
