Description
The chimney and associated boiler house, located immediately north of the Blue Hills Engine House, date from the mid-19th century and are part of the Blue Hills Mine. The chimney is constructed from Killas rubble and features a stepped brick collar, with the remains of a brick shaft above. The rectangular boiler house is connected to the round chimney, which is situated on higher ground, by an underground flue. The boiler house is currently roofless, and some of its walls have collapsed. The chimney remains intact up to the collar level, while the boiler house includes an arched furnace opening positioned low at the front.
