Description

This is a 19th-century chimney located in Buckland Dinham. The chimney is approximately 20 metres high and has a tapering stack that is square in shape. It is built in three stages, with the bottom two stages made of coursed rubble separated by a plain band. The top stage is constructed from red and blue engineering brick and features an oversailing course. This chimney was formerly part of a coal mine, which is now disused, and it is the only remaining structure from that site. It is an unusual survival in a completely rural area.
