Description

Dangerfield Farm House and the attached outbuilding is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It is built from random rubble and rendered, topped with a double Roman tile roof. There are two rubble stacks with moulded caps and one concrete block stack designed to match. The main facade faces the garden and is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and four bays. The sash windows have glazing bars and plain stone surrounds, with stucco mouldings around their edges, some of which are decayed. The central door opening has a chamfered stone surround and contains a six-panelled door with a transom light featuring decorative glazing bars and the date 1861 in stained glass. A mid-19th century gabled wooden porch with a trefoil-headed opening and decorative bargeboard is located at the front. Inside, the house includes an early 19th-century staircase, window shutters, and some decorative plasterwork. The outbuilding, set back to the left, has a half-hipped pantile roof and is two storeys high. It features an exterior rubble staircase leading to a door opening on the first floor, a plank door, and a semi-circular archway under the staircase that leads to another door on the ground floor, also a plank door.
