Description
Laurel Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage, originally two dwellings, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of random rubble and features a double Roman tile roof with coped verges, two brick stacks, and a single rubble stack. The facade is asymmetrical, with two storeys and an attic, consisting of four bays. The windows are predominantly three-light moulded stone mullioned windows, while the window to the right on the ground floor is bead moulded and has two lights, and there is a two-light casement in the left bay. Drip moulds are present above the ground floor openings. A 20th-century gabled porch with a triple Roman tile roof includes a casement window at the front and a vertical plank door on the right side. To the right, there is a single-storey pent roofed outshut with a three-quarter glazed 20th-century door. Inside, the cottage contains two broad fireplaces with wooden lintels on the ground floor.
