Description

The Old Parsonage is a former parsonage that has been converted into a house. It is dated to before 1679, as indicated by an inscription, with early 19th century alterations and additional work from the late 19th century. The building is constructed of random rubble and features a triple roman tile roof adorned with decorative ridge tiles, bracketed eaves, and coped verges. There is a brick stack on the left and an ashlar stack on the right.

The facade is symmetrical and follows an "L"-shaped plan. It has two storeys and an attic, with three bays featuring late 19th century casements that include glazing bars and marginal lights set in plain stone surrounds. The central door opening is framed in a similar style, topped with a moulded slab hood supported by cut stone brackets, and features a late 19th century half-glazed door that matches the overall design. There is a 17th century, two-light attic window on the right return.

At the rear, on the left return, there is a two-storey, two-bay wing that includes 2 and 3-light moulded stone mullioned windows beneath cornice dripmoulds. The interior mainly reflects early 19th century features, including doors, window shutters, moulded cornices, and a staircase. There are also two fireplaces with stone surrounds and cast iron grates on the first floor. The roof structure is an 'A' frame from the 11th century, featuring morticed collar beams and in-line trenched purlins. Additionally, there is a re-used window with small leaded lights in the attic dividing wall, inscribed with a name and dated 1679.
