Description
North Hawkwell Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, possibly reflecting the refenestration of an earlier dwelling. The building is rendered over rubble with a slate roof and features overhanging eaves and brick stacks at the gable ends.
The plan consists of two cells and a cross passage with wings at the rear. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with all openings featuring four-centred arches. The windows have wooden casements and divided tracery, with three-light windows and a two-light window above the central entrance. There is a gabled porch with a slate roof and a 20th-century door. A rear entrance on the right side has an early 19th-century studded door, likely the original front door that has been trimmed and reset.
