Description

This is a milestone located at the National Grid Reference SS 9385 4015, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone and cast iron. The stone features a slightly cambered head with a central plaque that has a semicircular top. The plaque is inscribed in raised lettering, stating "7 miles to Minehead," although the lowest row of lettering is obscured. The road where this milestone stands was constructed in the 1820s.
