Description
Couple Cross is a cottage dating from the early 19th century. It features roughcast over rubble, diagonal buttresses, and overhanging eaves with a soffit board. The roof is covered with bitumen and slate, curving out over a central bay, which also has a central square roughcast stack. The building has a double pile plan with a central curved bay. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay extending full height. Each floor of the central bay has paired arrowslit windows without hoodmoulds, while the other windows are 2-light leaded metal casements. There is a square-headed entrance in the centre with a plank door. Couple Cross is part of a group of cottages associated with the Chargot estate.
