Description
North Wheddon Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1840, possibly incorporating an earlier dwelling. It features roughcast over rubble and a slate roof with overhanging eaves and a soffit board on the main elevation. The building has brick stacks at the gable ends and to the left of the entrance. The layout consists of three cells and a cross passage. It is two storeys high with an attic and has three bays. There are two gabled 2-light casement dormers on the left and solar panels on the roof to the right. The first floor has 20-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has 25-pane sash windows. The entrance is located between the first and second bays on the right, consisting of double doors with recessed panels and a rectangular light above with marginal glazing bars. A flat-roofed Doric porch is present, although one of its capitals is damaged. There is a single-storey 20th-century addition on the left that is not of special interest. The interior has not been seen.
