Longhouse. Late C15, ceiled C16, kitchen wing added circa 1600, inner room rebuilt late C17-early C18, restored late C20. Roughcast over random rubble and cob, rubble exposed at lower end, slate roof, lower end with steeper pitch, external stone stack west gable end and north gable end with brick cap, brick stack left of cross passage. L-plan on a slope, store and cattle sheds to left of cross passage at lower end, 2 rooms to right with north kitchen wing addition and winder stair. South front; 2 storeys, all late C20 wooden casements, wall breaks forward slightly, 3 first floor windows, end 2 bays unlit first floor, original lower wall height, ground floor 2 windows left of entrance, one right, 2 stable doors to lower end, small window to left of end door, tiny glazed opening to left of cross passage entrance, plank door, Interior not sighted. Said to contain 3 pairs of jointed cruck trusses centre, with smoke blackening, lower end trusses rebuilt, and rebuilt pair at parlour end. VAG Report comments: 'the best example yet found of a longhouse in Somerset". (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, June 1983).
