Description
This house, located 50 metres to the south-west of the Kings Head Hotel, was built in 1821, though it may have earlier origins. It features rendered and painted stone rubble, with parts hung with rag slates, and has a rag slate roof with gable ends. The house has a projecting stone rubble end stack on the left and a stone rubble axial stack to the right of centre.
The layout consists of three rooms with a lobby entrance to the right of centre. Two rooms to the left of the entrance are heated by the end stack and the axial stack, while a lower room on the right shares the axial stack. There is also a one-room service outshut at the rear, heated by the end stack.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical three-window front, featuring dressed stone voussoirs above the openings and an entrance to the right of centre. The entrance has a 20th-century glazed door with a datestone above that reads "E I B 1821." To the right, there is a 20th-century window, and to the left, three two-light casements with painted headed lights. On the first floor, there are three two-light casements. The right side of the house is partly slate hung, and there is a George V letter box towards the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
