Description
No. 19 Tyndalls Park Road is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the mid-19th century and is constructed from limestone ashlar with a hipped roof covered in concrete tiles. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a basement, featuring a four-window range in an Italianate style.
The front of the building is symmetrical, with a two-storey, one-window block on the left side. It has incised rusticated quoin strips, a plat band, and bands for the first and second-floor sills and imposts, along with overhanging bracketed eaves. The central entrance features a doorcase with detached columns that have foliate capitals, supporting a projecting semicircular arch with a cornice. Above the double panelled door is a plate-glass fanlight.
On the ground floor, there are flanking three-light bow windows with foliate capitals, incised voussoirs, and cornices. The first floor has semicircular-arched arcades with three-light windows and a central two-light window, separated by detached columns, with small ball flowers and paterae above. The second-floor arcades match those below but feature flat, moulded lintels. The side block has matching windows, and the ground-floor windows are plate-glass while the upper sashes are 2/2-pane. The interior has not been inspected. Nos 5-19 are now connected as a single office space.
