Description

30 and 32 Tyndalls Park Road is a pair of attached houses, now converted into flats, built around 1860, likely by architect John Gay. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar and feature lateral and party wall stacks, with the roof not visible. They have a double-depth plan and are designed in a classical style, standing two storeys tall with a basement and attic, and a two-window range.

The symmetrical front of the building has projecting ends, with a banded ground floor leading to a cornice. There are paired first-floor pilasters supporting a dentil cornice, and an attic story topped with a moulded parapet and small pediments above the pilasters. The entrances are located at the ends of the building. The windows have elliptical-arched heads, with first-floor bracketed cornices and plate-glass sashes. The ground floor features three-light bow windows in the wings, with first-floor balustrades above, three-light windows in between, and smaller attic windows with shouldered architraves.

The entrance to No. 30 is set flush with the front and has rusticated jambs leading to a semicircular arch, which includes a three-pane fanlight and two-leaf, two-panel doors. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted that the details are similar to those of Nos. 21-25 Tyndall's Park Road, which have near-identical designs.
