Attached pair of houses. c1850. Limestone ashlar, roof not visible. Double-depth plan. Italianate style. Each of 3 storeys, basement and attic; 1-window range. Single-storey entrance blocks set back to the sides with pilasters to a cornice and parapet, rectangular overlight and 2-leaf, 2-panel doors. Main block is divided by a shallow vertical recess, each house having banded rustication to the ground floor, and pilasters with imposts to a wide, shallow, elliptical arch; cornice and parapet. Windows have 3 semicircular-arched hornless sashes with horizontal bars, with a shallow pediment on the ground floor, a cornice on moulded consoles on the first floor, and a plain surround on the second floor; first-floor windows have deep balconies on brackets; C20 dormers, that to No.4 breaking the cornice. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached Pennant ashlar front garden walls and capped piers.
