Description
No. 22 Portland Street is an attached house and shop dating from the early 19th century. The building features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings, brick gable stacks, and a pantile mansard roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The shop front, added in the 20th century, includes pilaster strips leading to a narrow modillion cornice and parapet. The façade displays five stepped voussoirs above 6/6-pane sash windows and a paired dormer. On the left side, there is a three-window range with a doorway beneath a first-floor canted oriel, also featuring 6/6-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
