Description

No. 148 Cheltenham Road is a house built in the late 18th century, which underwent alterations and changes to its windows in the late 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork with pale headers and stone dressings, and has a party wall stack. The roof is not visible. The house has a double-depth plan and consists of three storeys and a basement, with a one-bay range. The façade is parapeted with pilaster strips and has a cornice that is set forward to the pilasters.

The right-hand doorway is situated beneath a tented canopy supported by wrought-iron stanchions, leading to a two-panel door. There is a two-storey, three-window late 19th-century ashlar bow that includes foliate imposts, carved relief aprons, a second-floor cornice, and an enriched parapet. This bow features paired segmental-arched second-floor windows with imposts and a raised cornice, along with plate-glass sashes that have margin panes. The interior has not been inspected.
