Description

A pair of early 19th-century houses located on York Road in Montpelier, Bristol. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with brick stacks and a pantile mansard roof. They are arranged with a double-depth plan and feature two storeys and an attic, with a two-window arrangement on each side.

Number 127 has a rusticated ground floor, pilasters, a frieze, cornice, and parapet. It includes a semicircular-arched doorway with rusticated voussoirs, a fanlight, and a six-panel door with margin lights. Number 129 has a half-rendered ground floor with a 20th-century doorway inserted. Both houses feature late 19th-century casement windows; a wrought-iron balcony is present on the first-floor windows, and each house has two dormers in the attic. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. Originally built as a symmetrical house, the right-hand block was added later, and the property was subsequently divided into two separate dwellings.
