Description
Jasmine Cottage and Lavender Cottages are an early 19th-century pair of cottages located on the south side of Mudeford. They are constructed of painted brick and feature a hipped slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high and each has two windows, which are early 19th-century casements with glazing bars set beneath segmental arches. The doors are round arched with solid tympana. Lavender Cottages (No 55) has an additional side entrance that connects it to the one-storey section of No 57, known as Victoria Cottage.
These cottages, along with Nos 51 to 57 (odd) and the southwest part of No 59, are set back at an angle to the road and are situated in long gardens, forming a cohesive group. The opposite Prospect Cottages (Nos 1 and 2) are also part of this group and hold local interest.
