Description

No. 78 High Street is a house from the early to mid-19th century that includes a passageway leading to the footpath for Nos 79, 80, and 81 at the rear. It is constructed of squared limestone rubble with rusticated freestone quoins and dressings, topped with a pantile roof. The building has a double depth plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. The tall two-over-two pane sash windows, which date to around 1850, feature horizontal glazing bars and horns. The lintels appear to have been raised, and the timber sills on the ground floor have been lowered. To the left is a four-panel door with bolection moulding, also from around 1850, with the passageway located to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
